From 2014 (YouTube Edition): Simple Solutions Allow For More Efficient and Versatile Cockpits While at the AEA Southern Regional Convention 2014, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, went in search to find a solution for a key aviation concern. That concern is: where can you plug in a USB charger in your aircraft? It seems in this modern day of aviation that finding a place to keep your PED charged is almost as important as flying the aircraft. Jim’s quest brought him to Tim Fidler, the Mid-Continent Instruments Eastern Regional sales representative. Mid-Continent Instruments already has a USB charger system…

Lithuania has postponed its planned procurement of new military transport aircraft and will instead modernize its existing C-27J Spartan fleet to keep it in service through 2036, officials said after a State Defence Council meeting on January 27, 2026. Presidential national security adviser Deividas Matulionis told Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT that talks on a future transport aircraft acquisition are now expected to begin around 2030, while Vice Minister of National Defense Robertas Kaunas said the current fleet will be upgraded as a bridging solution. For the first hotel stay of our Iceland to The Residence via Cambodia trip, we spent a couple of nights at Torfhus Retreat, a hotel that’s conveniently located for touring the Golden Circle (which has many of Iceland’s most popular sites), but otherwise not close to a whole lot. We enjoyed our stay at Torfhus Retreat, and loved the convenience of the location, the geothermal pools, and the great restaurant. However, there are also some caveats to be aware of. For one, the property is expensive for what it is, but that’s not surprising, since we’re talking about Iceland. Beyond…
A report by The Telegraph claims that France has opposed an EU plan that would allow Ukraine to use EU-backed loans to buy British-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles. Citing documents seen by the paper, Ukraine’s weapons requirements exceed what the European Union can currently provide within the bloc, with Ukrainian defense officials estimating they will need €24 billion in military equipment from outside the EU in 2026. The figure is said to be driven mainly by demand for US-made Patriot air defense systems and the associated PAC-3 interceptor missiles. The article adds that long-range missiles have also been identified as a requirement…

We know that Air India is currently undergoing a major transformation, after being privatized. This includes ordering hundreds of new planes, and trying to greatly improve the passenger experience. As you might expect, this is no small project, both given the state of Air India’s legacy fleet, plus the general industry constraints (delays with aircraft deliveries, new seats, etc.). There’s now an exciting update — around four years after being privatized, Air India has finally introduced its first new wide body aircraft with custom interiors. This also marks the launch of one of Air India’s new wide body business class…

Airplane toilets can clog for a variety of reasons. Sometimes one lavatory will be clogged, sometimes multiple lavatories will have issues, and sometimes this even leads to diversions. However, a recent Philippine Airlines flight sounds absolutely disastrous, with all toilets malfunctioning, and the crew taking “matter(s)” into their own hands (literally). All Philippine Airlines 777 lavatories break on long haul flight InsiderPH has the story of an incident that reportedly occurred on Philippine Airlines flight PR113 last week, from Los Angeles (LAX) to Manila (MNL). The roughly 15-hour flight was operated by a Boeing 777-300ER. At some point while over…
Recently, we’ve seen major airlines in the United States report their financial results for 2025. Among the “big three” carriers, the results are exactly what you’d expect — Delta had the best performance, United was in second place, and American was a distant third. Related to this, one interesting thing has been seeing how profit sharing differs at these carriers. Following its full-year earnings report, American revealed the details of its employee profit sharing for 2025, and the numbers are leaving employees very frustrated. American employees furious over profit sharing amounts JonNYC shares American’s profit sharing numbers based on 2025…
