The Eurofighter Typhoon global fleet, counting 610 aircraft in service across nine nations, has reached the one million flight hours milestone. The Eurofighter consortium has announced on Jan. 29, 2026, that the Typhoon fleet has reached one million flight hours. The milestone is accompanied by the EJ200 engine reaching 2 million flight hours, as two of the engines are installed on each aircraft. The U.S. Air Force is looking for contractors who can train foreign pilots receiving American military aid, according to an Air Force Request for Information. Airbus’ last active BelugaST (“Super Transporter”) is set to perform its final flight on January 29, 2026, after more than three decades of service.  This iconic cargo aircraft is an A300-600 aircraft which has been specially customized to carry oversized cargo, such as wings and other aircraft sub-assemblies, between the different Airbus production plants scattered across Europe.  Its bulging shape is the result of having cut off the top of an A300-600 to integrate it with the upper part of a second fuselage. As the Airbus fleet of Beluga super transporter aircraft readies for withdrawal by 2027 in favour of the larger, more efficient A330-743L BelugaXL, the company is lining up final resting places for the now three decade old airframes. A small commuter airplane operated on behalf of Colombia’s state-owned airline Satena crashed in a remote region of the country’s northeast on January 28, 2026, killing all 15 people on board, authorities said. The U.S. Air Force has chosen the 319th Reconnaissance Wing at Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota, to spearhead efforts to counter small-drone threats at U.S. military installations, the service announced earlier this month.The initiative, dubbed the Point Defense Battle Lab, will focus on developing and maintaining air supremacy over small unmanned aircraft systems, to include first person view drones, according to a Jan. 8 release. Gulfstream closed 2025 with a steep jump in aircraft deliveries and strong demand that pushed parent company General Dynamics’ aerospace backlog to new heights.  General Dynamics said its aerospace segment, which includes Gulfstream and Jet Aviation, generated $13.11 billion in revenue in 2025, up 16.5% year over year, and delivered $1.746 billion in operating earnings. The U.S. Navy’s second nuclear-powered Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carrier steamed out to sea Wednesday for sea trials ahead of its much-anticipated arrival to the fleet in 2027.The USS John F.
