According to a Bloomberg article published on February 4, 2026, the CEO of SAS, Anko van der Werff, has hinted at a large order to meet an increasing demand for long-haul travel. Tampa International Airport (TPA) has a special place in my heart. I grew up in Tampa, so it used to by home airport back when I’d do mileage runs. My dad still lives in Tampa, so it’s an airport I return to all the time. On top of that, it’s just generally an awesome mid-size airport — it’s so easy to use thanks to the central concourse, with several smaller terminals. In late 2024, Tampa Airport previewed its first new terminal in around 20 years. I’d like to provide an update, as the terminal’s final design has just been revealed,…

Gen. Kelvin Fan, the chief of Singapore’s Air Force, told Defense News. “We are currently operationalizing our Orbiter 4 and Hermes 900 UAVs.” Both drones are produced by Israeli-based companies, namely Aeronautics Group and…

We just spent a night at the Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows. We had a 16-hour overnight in Phoenix, so rather than staying at one of the (rather depressing) airport hotels, I figured it would be more fun to redeem World of Hyatt points and stay at a property that offers a bit more of an experience. I’ll have a full review soon, but in this post I’d like to sort of address a topic more broadly. I think this hotel stay sums up why I really don’t particularly enjoy staying at most hotels in the United States. Essentially, I’d…

Russia’s drone manufacturers recently got a New Year’s present: the government incentivizing Russian companies to buy their technologies. On Jan. 1, an order went into effect providing Russian companies with expanded income tax incentives for buying Russian unmanned aerial vehicles. For every ruble they spend on UAVs, those companies can deduct two rubles from their income taxes. On its face, it’s a pretty good deal, especially for those companies hoping to contribute to the state’s war machine. But the reality, including what this means for Ukraine and the West, is more complicated.Russia’s decade-plus domestic tech push shows that Russia can excel at…
