Boeing announced on April 28, 2026, that it has received an order for up to 60 B737 MAX aircraft (40 firm orders plus 20 options) from Panamanian carrier Copa Airlines. The exact version breakdown of this order is not known yet, as the airline may have chosen to keep some flexibility as to its exact make up. The order reaffirms the Copa Airlines’ commitment to Boeing and the B737 family of aircraft, which has historically been the mainstay of its fleet. With this new order, Copa Airlines expects to replace an unspecified number of older B737 NG aircraft as well as expand its fleet. The Panamanian carrier aims to have a fleet of more than 100 B737 MAX aircraft in…

By Karl Sinclair April 28, 2026, © Leeham News: An abnormally downbeat Guillaume Faury, CEO of Airbus, was clearly not pleased with how things progressed in the first quarter of 2026. When asked when commercial aircraft delivery rates will converge with production rates, he said, “We don’t like to guide or to give rates when it comes to monthly production rates or even quarterly production rates. It’s non-linear and tends to be backloaded in Q2 and Q4 in most years. That’s something that we are suffering from probably more this year than I remember we’ve ever suffered in the first…
“We applaud the Virginia General Assembly for holding firm and rejecting Gov. Spanberger’s proposed amendment to House Bill 5. By sending the original, inclusive legislation back to the governor’s desk, Virginia lawmakers stood up to the governor’s blindsided approach and reaffirmed what they recognized from the start: that airline pilots and flight attendants are Virginia workers, and they deserve the same protections as every other Virginian. The Virginia General Assembly heard from its constituents and did the right thing. Airline crew members get sick just like everyone else. Now, the governor has the choice to heed the call of the…
