The United States’ ambassador in Lisbon, John Arrigo, has urged Portugal to buy Lockheed Martin’s F-35, pushing the fifth-generation fighter as the preferred successor to the Portuguese Air Force’s aging F-16 fleet. Qantas has taken delivery of its fourth Airbus A321XLR, with the aircraft arriving in Brisbane on the weekend of February 21-22, 2026 following its journey from the Airbus factory in Hamburg via Bangkok. Two KLM aircraft collided on the ground at Amsterdam-Schiphol International Airport (AMS) on February 21, 2026.  The incident took place at around 8.30am local time, when one of the aircraft, a Boeing 737-800 (PH-BCL) was being pushed back from gate D54 as it was preparing to operate flight KL1953 to Athens (ATH) and collided with another aircraft that was, reportedly, stationary at the time.
