The Boeing 747-400 is perhaps one of the most iconic aircraft to ever grace the skies, with its forward upper deck giving it the distinctive hump it is known for. The Boeing 777-300ER also an impressive jet, and is powered by what are currently the largest and most powerful commercial aircraft engines in the world. However, which of the two aircraft is bigger? In this article, we will compare the Boeing 747-400 and the Boeing 777-300ER to determine which aircraft is bigger. In doing so, we will look at a number of different factors, including the physical size of the…
Since the fatal crashes of 2018 and 2019, Boeing has struggled to restore stability across its operations. The difficulties worsened last year after a door plug detached mid-flight on an Alaska Airlines 737 MAX 9, and placed the manufacturer under renewed regulatory scrutiny. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has since capped 737 MAX production at 38 aircraft per month and imposed strict oversight of the production process. As the company shifted focus to safety and quality, it managed to deliver only 348 commercial aircraft in 2024, a sharp decline from 528 the year before and well behind Airbus, which handed…

Few aircraft are truly as iconic as the Boeing 757, a long-range twin-engine aircraft that has distinguished itself for being able to serve both short and medium-haul routes crossing continents and oceans. These kinds of services fundamentally restructured airline route networks in the early 2000s, opening up access to new kinds of destinations for carriers that had previously been off-limits due to range and demand considerations. The Boeing 757, a long-range narrowbody that fits right in the capacity sweet spot between single-aisle and widebody jets, helped address this demand and has been used for decades to serve routes that would…

Donald Trump, the current President of the US, has taken to social media to praise Delta Air Lines for adopting some of his government’s vocabulary adjustments. Most notably, the Atlanta-based US ‘big three’ legacy carrier and SkyTeam founding member will now refer to the Gulf of Mexico as the ‘Gulf of America.’ The changes appear to have been shared in a company memo that also notes that ‘Notice to Air Missions’ will be henceforth referred to as ‘Notice to Air Men’ at Delta Air Lines. While Donald Trump was quick to laud Delta Air Lines for ’embracing MAGA,’ the carrier…

Delta Air Lines has achieved a key milestone on the sustainability front by taking delivery of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) at Portland International Airport (PDX) in the Pacific Northwest state of Oregon. The Atlanta-based US legacy carrier and SkyTeam founding member teamed up with Shell to make this possible. The move saw hundreds of thousands of gallons of US-made SAF delivered to Portland International, with this particular milestone marking the first commercial-scale uplift of Sustainable Aviation Fuel at the airport. Going forward, it will boost both Delta’s sustainability credentials and PDX’s ability to capitalize on SAF growth. Portland’s First Commercial-Scale…
