Unveiled in December 2022, Northrop Grumman’s B-21 Raider represents the United States’ first new bomber in more than three decades and the anticipated linchpin of Air Force Global Strike Command’s modernized triad. Although visually similar to the B-2 Spirit, the Raider introduces numerous significant differences that make it the first sixth-generation bomber ever built. A smaller profile, lower empty weight, and modular armament tailored to next-generation standoff weapons aim to improve survivability, lethality, and sustainment. Composite structures, advanced radar-absorbent materials, and open-mission systems promise fewer maintenance man-hours and faster software upgrades. Its efficient commercial-derivative engines will extend the unrefueled range…
It sounds like Monday won’t be a great day for Lufthansa Group employees… Lufthansa expected to cut 20% of administrative jobs Reuters is reporting that Lufthansa Group will be announcing major job cuts on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the first company-wide capital markets day in six years, since before the pandemic. While exact details remain to be seen, the expectation is that administrative staff will be reduced by around 20% in the coming years. This announcement is expected to come as the company reassures investors about its commitment to efficiency. Lufthansa’s shares rose by 3.4%, to their highest level…
Delta Air Lines has one of the world’s largest Airbus A350 fleets and was the first North American operator of the widebody type. Known for its versatility and efficiency on long-haul routes, the A350 is a strong competitor to Boeing’s 777 and 787 Dreamliner family of aircraft. There are two variants in the A350 family — the A350-900 and A350-1000 — and Delta has commitments for both types, although currently it only operates the -900. Delta is the only US carrier to operate the A350, with fellow majors American Airlines and United Airlines ultimately opting for Boeing’s widebody products instead.…

I’m curious how my experience on this compares to that of others… A hotel finally asked me to show my AAA card! One of the easiest ways to save money on a hotel stay is by booking a AAA rate. While it won’t save you a fortune, many of the major hotel chains offer AAA members some percentage discount on the standard rate. In most cases, I also find that this is better than the typical “members only” rate, for those who belong to the loyalty program. So I always compare rates when I go to book a hotel. When…
The last passenger outfitted Boeing 767 was delivered in 2011 to All Nippon Airways (ANA), but the global fleet is still going strong, more than a decade after the assembly line shuttered. The 767 is one of the most popular transoceanic widebodies in the world, as one of the most frequently used types to cross the Atlantic on international routes. The 767 was made for a specific market gap in a parallel development program alongside the 757. First Delivery October 25, 1982 Number Delivered 1,316 Production Sites Everett, Washington, United States Boeing’s 767 was tailor-made for medium-range, high density routes.…
Folks, please don’t treat airline representatives this way, because they don’t deserve it. I’m covering this because I think it’s interesting how the public’s lack of knowledge about how airline operations work often creates some deceiving narratives. Man misses Ryanair connection in Krakow, gets angryAn Instagram user shared a video of an interaction he had with a Ryanair gate agent at Krakow Airport (KRK), in Poland, prior to attempting to fly to Tirana, Albania (TIA). The video has text that reads “this baldy made me miss my flight when he could have easily let me on.” Okay, first of all,…
There is no doubt that airlines rely on their widebodied aircraft for their long-haul operations, especially on high-capacity routes. Passengers look for comfortable cabins on long-haul flights and will often look closely at what the airlines are offering in terms of cabin quality. For the airlines, cost efficiency is crucial, and sustainability presents a huge challenge. Here, we will compare two of the largest airlines in the United States, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines, to determine which airline has the largest widebodied fleet. Both United Airlines and Delta Air Lines are US legacy carriers with domestic and international routes…
US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has what’s known as the Preclearance program, whereby US-bound travelers can clear customs and immigration prior to boarding their US-bound flight from select international airports. The biggest market for these Preclearance facilities is Canada, where all major airports have such a facility. Canada is also the biggest inbound tourism market for the United States, and we’ve seen a huge reduction in the number of visitors from Canada to the United States this year. That brings us to some interesting comments that were just made. US threatens to “take a look” at Preclearance facilities Pete Hoekstra, the…
