Over the past decade, airlines have put more focus on premium cabins as a way to strengthen revenue. Economy fares have become less reliable as a profit driver, and markets on both sides of the Atlantic and Pacific have faced oversaturation. Carriers have responded by investing in more business-class seats, launching new premium economy products, and upgrading service standards to capture travelers willing to pay more for comfort. For instance, American Airlines is bringing its new Flagship Suite to the 777-300ER, the A321XLR, and the 787. Even low-cost carriers such as Frontier, Spirit, and Southwest have moved to add extra…
NATO is increasing its aerial presence in the Baltic Sea region, according to a report by Reuters. The news comes as several unidentified drones were observed near Denmark’s military installations and Copenhagen’s main airport on September 26, 2025. The drones forced the grounding of all commercial flights at Copenhagen’s largest hub, Kastrup Airport (CPH), for at least two hours. Denmark stated that the drones spotted over its airports seem to have been operated by a “professional actor,” though there is no evidence of Russian involvement. Just last week, three Russian MiG-31 fighter jets violated Estonian airspace in what has been…

Ronald Lam is CEO of the Cathay Pacific Group. Speaking at Routes World in Hong Kong, he stated his remit: Cathay Pacific itself (the passenger airline), Cathay Cargo, its wholly owned low-cost unit HK Express, and Cathay Lifestyle. As if he’s not busy enough, he is also chairperson of HK Express. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Lam was bullish: “We are stronger and better than we were before the coronavirus.” He did not “waste” the pandemic, using it as justification for significant reforms. And now, he says, he’s in a better position to face the future. Connecting China To The World Credit: Shutterstock Without…

Option Approach An approach requested and conducted by a pilot which will result in either a touch-and-go, missed approach, low approach, stop-and-go, or full stop landing. Pilots should advise ATC if they decide to remain on the runway, of any delay in their stop and go, delay clearing the runway, or are unable to comply with the instruction(s).
The Tailwheel Began To Shimmy, And The Airplane Drifted Left Of The Centerline… Analysis: During the landing as the tailwheel touched down on the runway, the tailwheel began to shimmy, and the airplane drifted left of the centerline. The left seat pilot attempted to maintain control, and the right seat pilot twice made minor inputs to maintain the centerline and “lifted the tailwheel” to alleviate the shimmy. When the tailwheel touched down a third time and the airplane’s full weight was placed on the tailwheel, the airplane veered sharply to the left. Full application of the right rudder did not…
From 2016 (YouTube Edition): Think You Might Be Interested In Building An Airplane?… Anyone who is even slightly interested in building their own airplane is aware that thousands of homebuilt airplanes have been built by people who were not experts in airplane building or things mechanical. Even though it is well proven it can be done, it might still be hard to take the first step to start an airplane project. Now, CubCrafters has come out with a way to get you started. ANN’s News Editor, Tom Patton, checked in with CubCrafters’ Director of Global Marketing, John Whitish, while at…

The changes are slated to begin in the coming months and continue through fiscal year 2027. Currently, about 30,000 soldiers serve in aviation roles ranging from pilots to support crews. By the time the cuts are finished, roughly one in five of those positions will be gone. Secretary of Transportation Sean P. Duffy announced that the FAA met and exceeded…
It’s common for airlines to have inconsistent business class products across their fleet, which often raises the question of what it’s appropriate for airlines to advertise. That brings us to Cyprus Airways, the national airline of Cyprus, which might be taking a few too many liberties… Cyprus Airways’ incredible A220 business class Cyprus Airways has a fleet of six planes, including four Airbus A220 and two A320s. I’d argue the airline has the world’s most impressive A220 business class. The seats are in a 2-2 configuration. Not only that, but the seats have a staggering 46″ of pitch, which is…
