American Airlines now offers travelers a new way to book their flights through an online booking tool that allows you to search based on the ‘type of trip’. Powered by AI, this feature enables the savvy traveler to pick destinations based on the type of trip they are looking for, rather than the traditional to-and-from approach. A virtual demonstration of the tool was on display on September 30, where American’s Managing Director of Customer Experience – Digital Transformation, Anshuman Singh, explained to USA Today that more and more passengers are looking for experiences, rather than traditional travel. Using Prompts To…
IndiGo is the largest airline within the fast-growing Indian market, but recently, all the headlines have focused on its international long-haul expansion. This week was no different, as the carrier announced that it will be launching two new routes to China later this month. This makes it the first airline to provide non-stop service between India and China since the pandemic and a deadly border clash brought air links to a halt in 2020. IndiGo is also expanding rapidly in the other direction, using wet-leased Boeing 787s to launch new long-haul routes to Europe. This week alone it has firmed…
While JetBlue might be New York’s hometown airline, it also proudly operates as the largest carrier serving the US Territory of Puerto Rico. The airline, which operates a robust network of international and domestic services from the Caribbean archipelago, today unveiled a vibrant new aircraft livery designed by renowned Puerto Rican artist, Juan Gutiérrez Rovira. Named the ‘Isla del Bluencanto’, this design was curated to symbolize the strong bond between the island and JetBlue. The design was unveiled on October 2 at The Flight Park at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, the territory’s busiest airport. Chosen By…
On October 3, EVA Air became the latest long-haul passenger airline to serve Dallas/Fort Worth. It is the first time the Texas hub, which is the world’s third-busiest airport by flights, has had nonstop Taipei service. That’s not surprising. With fewer than 27,000 round-trip passengers a year, the existing local market is relatively small. Of course, it’ll target passengers transiting to multiple cities in East and Southeast Asia. The arrival of EVA Air in Dallas came nearly half a year after the start of Cathay Pacific. The two East Asian operators have various things in common, including the similarity of…
Weeks after they arrived in Puerto Rico, the F-35s were shown flying with live AIM-120Ds, AIM-9Xs and GBU-54s. The U.S. is now showing in official images the U.S. Marine Corps’ F-35Bs operating in the Caribbean, weeks after they were initially deployed to Puerto Rico. The first images were released on the DVIDS network on Oct. 2, 2025, although they were captured on Sept. 13 – the day the F-35s arrived at the former Roosevelt Roads Naval Station in Ceiba, Puerto Rico. The F-16 Fighting Falcon and the MiG-35 Fulcrum-F are both mature approaches to the modern multirole fighter, but differ significantly in their design. Each can reach about twice the speed of sound, and both were conceived to fill air-to-air and air-to-ground roles. The designers chose different trade-offs in terms of performance that become clear when one looks at configuration, weapons, and the obvious contrast of single versus twin-engine jet. In all likelihood, the outcome of a battlefield engagement would likely depend on the conditions and pilot skill more so than the technical points. All things being equal, however, the Lockheed…
In an exclusive interview at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Col. Luke Spathes and Lt. Col. Reinier Villanueva discuss rapid mobility, integration with F-22s, and the challenges of operating in the vast Indo-Pacific. It’s July 30, 2025, and the remote Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia has just been rattled by a massive magnitude 8.8 megathrust earthquake, the strongest quake in the region since 1952 and among the most powerful ever recorded globally. The quake triggered tsunami warnings across vast expanses of the Pacific: from Japan (where nearly two million people were evacuated), to Hawaii, the U.S. West Coast, Chile, Ecuador’s Galápagos,…
Following recent diplomatic efforts to restore ties between India and China, Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo announced on October 2, 2025, the resumption of services between the two countries. The airline said, as a consequence of the warming in international relations, it would be connecting Kolkata (CCU) to Guangzhou (CAN) with daily, non-stop flights starting on October 26, 2025. The new flights remain subject to regulatory approvals. A statement issued by the carrier said that IndiGo will use its fleet of Airbus A320neo aircraft to operate these flights, and that the resumption of services “will re-establish avenues for cross-border trade and…
