Allegiant Air has announced 30 new nonstop routes connecting 35 cities across the country, all of which will launch ahead of Summer 2026. As part of the expansion, the Las Vegas-based leisure carrier will also be adding four new markets in Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
The new growth comes as Allegiant is giving new focus to its airline operations, having recently extricated itself from a failed investment in a Florida resort, and made the decision to abandon LAX due to high costs. The airline also faces ongoing challenges with its pilots, who have coordinated pickets at all 22 Allegiant crew bases across the US as they seek to negotiate a new contract.
Allegiant Is Entering Four New Markets
Allegiant rebounded strongly after the pandemic, riding the surge in leisure travel across the US. But more recently, the airline posted a loss in 2024 and just reported an operating loss of $23.7 million for Q3 2025. Much of this was tied to its ill-fated investment in the under-performing Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor, which has been a steady financial drain. The airline has now divested from this to focus exclusively on its airline operations, which remain profitable on an adjusted basis.
This has also meant the tough decision to end service at
Los Angeles International Airport, with the airline saying it is shifting to Hollywood Burbank Airport, citing rising operating costs at LAX and a desire to leverage lower fees and more favorable infrastructure. As part of this restructuring, Allegiant is now announcing 30 new routes for 2026, which will include it starting service at four new airports:
- Columbia Regional Airport (COU) in Missouri
- La Crosse Regional Airport (LSE) in Wisconsin
- Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) in Pennsylvania
- Trenton-Mercer Airport (TTN) in New Jersey
Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief commercial officer, says that the new destinations align with the airline’s mission to connect travelers to world-class destinations at an affordable price:
“These additions provide convenient options for leisure travelers and reflect our commitment to expanding service where demand is strong. As we grow, we remain focused on delivering the most value to our customers.”
Fulls Details On The New Routes
Ten of the new routes are set to launch in February, including all the routes from new city, Trenton, with the remainder arriving in time for next summer. Unsurprisingly, leisure destinations feature strongly in the line-up, notably Destin-Fort Walton Beach and Gulf Shores. Allegiant is the sole operator at the latter, and will now fly 12 routes to the popular Gulf Coast vacation destination.

After Nearly 2 Decades, Allegiant Airlines Will End Service At LAX
2026 will see the end of Allegiant Air’s service at LAX. Here’s what’s happening and why.
Allegiant Pilots Join The Picket Line
Allegiant faces another significant challenge with its pilots, who are currently undertaking coordinated informational pickets, including a large-scale picket today at all 22 crew bases across the United States. This action is designed to highlight stalled contract negotiations, following a no-confidence vote in the company’s leadership.
The pilots have been in federally mediated talks since January 2023 and have been working without a new contract for five years. They are seeking substantial improvements in pay, citing that their wages are up to 30% below industry standards, as well as better working conditions and fairer scheduling rules.
It is important to note that this is an informational picket and not a strike or work stoppage. Allegiant has confirmed that its flight operations are unaffected and that they do not anticipate any delays or cancellations. While the pilots previously authorized a strike with a 97.4% vote, they are currently legally barred from doing so under the US Railway Labor Act until the federal mediation process is officially concluded.
