Alaska Airlines unveils business class suites for upcoming long-haul service

Alaska Airlines unveiled a new international business class cabin on April 1, 2026.

This new product, which will be available on the carrier’s Boeing 787-9 aircraft, has been designed with the new long-haul expansion program in mind.

In 2025 Alaska Airlines announced a major strategic pivot, with plans to launch at least 12 new long-haul routes out of Seattle-Tacoma (SEA) to both Europe and Asia.

The airline’s new business class will feature fully lie-flat suites with privacy doors, direct aisle access and 18” screens, giving access to an inflight entertainment (IFE) catalogue of 1,500 movies and TV shows. The seats are also equipped with electric ports and wireless power outlets to charge personal electronic devices.

Business class passengers will also be able to enjoy bedding and amenity kits designed by Filson, a renowned apparel brand which, just like the airline, also hails from the Pacific Northwest.

Alaska Airlines also plans to offer a premium onboard catering experience, which will include a welcome service featuring a cheese and charcuterie board, a main dining experience with up to six choices and an artisanal dessert cart. The menu as well as the wine list will be inspired by the flavors of the US West Coast, as well as of the destinations the airline serves with its Dreamliner fleet.

Starlink-provided inflight internet connectivity will also soon be available on Alaska Airlines’ Dreamliner fleet, following the successful rollout by its recently acquired subsidiary Hawaiian Airlines.

The new product, which Alaska Airlines says will reflect the warmth and hospitality of the US West Coast, will be first available on the carrier’s upcoming services between Seattle and Rome Fiumicino (FCO), Seoul-Incheon (ICN), and Tokyo Narita (NRT).
