Airbus Helicopters launches Singapore logistics hub to serve 21 APAC markets

Airbus Helicopters has opened a new, 2,000-square-meter regional logistics hub in Singapore. The facility is designed to accelerate spare parts delivery across 21 countries and territories in Asia-Pacific.

The facility, which was inaugurated on February 2, 2026, was launched with €10 million (US $11.9) in initial inventory. Airbus said the hub aims to reduce delivery times for critical helicopter components from days to hours by positioning stock closer to operators throughout the region.

“This new regional logistics hub marks a pivotal milestone, positioning Singapore at the heart of our global support network,” said Vincent Dubrule, Senior Vice President Asia-Pacific at Airbus Helicopters. “Establishing this capability here is more than expanding our footprint. It is about building a logistics supply chain that is agile.”

Strategic positioning

The Singapore hub serves customers from Japan to New Zealand, covering Southeast Asia, India, and broader South Asia markets. Dubrule emphasized the location’s strategic value during the facility’s inauguration, noting that proximity matters in helicopter operations where aircraft-on-ground situations can be costly.

“It’s very important for a logistics hub to be located in a place where we can reach all customers in one flight,” Dubrule explained, highlighting how the Singapore location enables rapid response across the region.

The facility functions as the flagship of a broader network that includes parts distribution centers in Hong Kong and Perth, Australia. Together, these sites support 12 customer centers equipped with dedicated material support and logistics teams managing spares, repairs, and maintenance programs.

Technology-enhanced operations

The warehouse incorporates advanced storage technology to maximize efficiency and space utilization. Four vertical lift modules provide automated, high-density storage using a central extractor and vertical column system that delivers parts directly to operators’ workstations.

“You can see we have the vertical lift module, VLM, which helps with better use of the space and a better access to the parts that are stored inside. It’s like a lift that turns,” Dubrule told AeroTime in an exclusive interview during the inauguration.

The facility houses more than 20,000 part numbers covering everything from small consumables to larger helicopter assemblies. A specialized 55-square-meter elastomers room maintains controlled temperature and humidity for sensitive rubber components, protecting up to 2,000 critical parts that require specific storage conditions.

“We have the elastomer room, which is controlled better in temperature and humidity so that the elastomer can last the proper duration after their cure date,” Dubrule said, explaining how the facility addresses the particular needs of helicopter maintenance.

Expansion plans

Airbus Helicopters plans to double the inventory as the hub reaches full operational capacity, reflecting confidence in regional demand growth. The investment represents what Dubrule described as “a long-term investment in our customers’ mission success, delivering faster, reliable, and predictable support across Asia-Pacific well into the future.”

The company is also working to shift more parts inventory from European warehouses to the Singapore facility to reduce dependency on long-distance shipping. “We have a project to even increase the stock collection, the parts that are located here and not in Europe, so that we can, for more of them, serve the customer rapidly,” Dubrule said.
