On October 13, 2025, Air Serbia announced the launch of a new long-haul service between its base at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG) and Toronto-Pearson (YYZ).
The new route will be operated seasonally during the spring and summer months, with the first flight scheduled for May 23, 2026 (with ticket sales opening on October 16, 2025). Flights will depart Belgrade on Wednesdays and Saturdays and be operated by an Airbus A330-200.
The airline has highlighted that this can, actually, be considered a resumption of service, since its predecessor, Yugoslavian national carrier JAT already used to operate between Belgrade and Toronto. That service was discontinued in May 1992, exactly 32 years prior to the launch of the new service.
Air Serbia will be the only operator on this route,
The Serbian flag carrier has four leased aircraft of this type in its fleet, fitted with a two-class cabin for 257 seats, 21 in Business and 236 in Economy Class.
Toronto will become the airline’s third North American destination, after New York-JFK and Chicago O’Hare (ORD). Air Serbia also operates to two long-haul destinations in China, namely Shanghai-Pudong (PVG) and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN).
