Ontic names former Bombardier executive Jean-Christophe Gallagher CEO

Ontic has named Jean-Christophe “JC” Gallagher as Chief Executive Officer as the aerospace supplier takes steps to achieve its next phase of global growth.

Gallagher joins Ontic from Bombardier, where he spent 20 years in a variety of leadership roles. He most recently served as Executive Vice President of Aircraft Sales and Defense, leading sales and defense activity for the Canadian aircraft manufacturer.

Ontic supplies parts and support services for civil and military aircraft, with a focus on keeping older aircraft flying. The company becomes the OEM for critical parts originally developed by other manufacturers, then supports those products through manufacturing, engineering, MRO, spares and AOG services.

Gareth Hall, who has led Ontic for more than a decade, will move from CEO to Executive Chairman. Ontic said Hall will continue to guide the company’s long-term strategy and key relationships.

“Ontic is entering an exciting new phase of growth, and this is the right moment to add to our leadership structure to match that opportunity,” Hall said. “JC brings deep aerospace expertise and a strong track record of leading high-performing global teams. His appointment further strengthens our senior leadership and positions Ontic to build on the momentum we have created.”

Ontic said Gallagher’s appointment comes as the company continues to expand its global operations and support a growing portfolio of aircraft systems. The company’s business is built around supporting parts availability and long-term fleet sustainment, particularly for aircraft that remain in service long after their original production programs have ended.

Hall said Gallagher’s background aligns with Ontic’s strategy and long-term goals.

“What stood out most about JC was his alignment with Ontic’s strategy, values and long-term ambition,” Hall said. “He brings enormous energy, global perspective, and a clear passion for this industry. He will be a strong champion for our customers, partners, and people.”

Gallagher said he was drawn to the role because Ontic plays a central role in keeping aircraft flying over long operating lives.

“Ontic plays a vital role in keeping aircraft flying for generations, and I’m honored to join a team so deeply committed to that mission,” Gallagher said. “The company’s purpose, supporting a lifetime of flight, resonates strongly with me, and I’m excited to build on the exceptional momentum Gareth and the team have created.”

Ontic said the leadership transition will take place progressively over the coming months, with Hall and Gallagher working together during the handover.

The company said it will continue to focus on engineering expertise, operational performance and global scale as it supports customers and OEM partners.
