04.16.26: Tecnam & MOSAIC, Mental Health In Aviation Bill, ALERT Act Progress Luke Wippler, new chairman of the board of trustees for AOPA, told a membership town hall at SUN ’n FUN that he is committed to increased visibility of AOPA leadership at events around the country. “We need a strong AOPA and every member matters. We will be showing up and leading differently,” Wippler told the tent full of members at the town hall. “It means a lot to be part of this organization and I will push initiatives and objectives. I am ready to get to work for you.” One of our favorite airplanes, the Christen Eagle is back… CEO Chuck Therriault is close to having the full assortment of sub-kits ready so that there will be plenty of future Eagles ready to fill the skies. ANN checked in with Chuck to get a timeline for what to expect next… magniX is making a big push for the sustainable general aviation market, launching a brand-new fully electric engine designed for trainers, light sport aircraft, and kitplane builders. The so-called magniAIR powertrain is being shown off at this year’s SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo alongside its primary flight test platform: the Van’s RV-10.
