But everybody deserves a fair shot with clear evidence and an opportunity to clear their name and get to the truth of whatever the allegation is, and if it means termination rightfully of a designee, then so be it.” Source: A comment from one of the two former DPEs (Puglia) suing the FAA… Their suit, filed in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida, focuses on two former Florida-based DPEs: Robert Lasky and Joseph Puglia. It addresses FAA language, which calls a DPE designation “a privilege and not a right” and allows immediate terminations, often without explanations.
