European UAS operations are expanding from the low to the medium risk of the regulatory framework, supported by compliance methods for UAS design gradually nearing completion.
It’s a pivotal point in time and National Aviation Authorities, EASA and Industry should get together, ensure clear and harmonized understanding, and discuss residual gaps and potential improvements for UAS design compliance.
The workshop will address the process based on Statement of Compliance (SOC, for SAIL III) and EASA Design Verification Report (DVR, required in SAIL IV), as well as the relevant technical means of compliance. Attention will be dedicated to aspects such as configuration control and changes to UAS design, safety assessment, development assurance and experimental flights of UAS.
