Emirates To Showcase Largest-Ever Presence At The 2025 Dubai Airshow

There are now just three days to go until the start of the 2025 Dubai Airshow, which will kick off on Monday, November 17, at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), also known as Dubai World Central. The prestigious event is the highlight of the Middle Eastern aviation calendar, and, this year, it will run until Friday, November 21. Based out of neighboring Dubai International Airport (DXB), UAE flag carrier Emirates has big plans for the show.

Indeed, Emirates confirmed in a statement released earlier today that the Dubai Airshow 2025 will see the carrier’s largest ever presence at the event, with the airline showcasing both the aircraft of today and the technology of tomorrow. Let’s take a closer look at what exactly the carrier has up its sleeve.

Emirates’ Aircraft Will Play A Central Role

An airline is nothing without its aircraft, and, as such, it is unsurprising to see that Emirates has particularly big plans as far as showcasing all aspects of its fleet at the Dubai Airshow is concerned. From the commercial passenger side of things, the Airbus A350, A380, and Boeing 777 will all be present, while static displays of Gamebird GB1 and Diamond DA42-VI aircraft will give visitors a look at the Emirates Flight Training Academy.

The theme of the event as a whole is ‘The Future is Here,’ and Emirates’ showcase of the new Airbus A350 will strongly represent the next generation of the Dubai-based UAE flag carrier’s fleet. This jet will appear alongside its older A380 and 777 counterparts in the flying display, as Emirates confirmed today:

“Emirates will open the flying display on the first afternoon of the airshow with a special fly past including the Airbus A350, A380, and the Boeing 777, joined by other UAE-based commercial airlines.”

A World Of Wonder

As a modern and forward-thinking airline, Emirates prides itself on using technology to optimize its operations, both on the passenger experience and flying sides of things. With this in mind, the carrier has devised an exhibition stand featuring a ‘Smart Corridor’ that “brings the future of air travel to life with cutting-edge AI-powered customer experiences.” Among other things, this will showcase Emirates’ newfound biometric capabilities.

This follows the recent news that the carrier had invested $23 million in more than 200 biometric cameras at its Dubai hub in order to offer a faster and contact-free administrative experience. Showcasing this technology at the show will give prospective users an idea of what to expect, while also providing them with the opportunity to undertake the necessary ‘Biometric Selfie Registration’ that is required in order to benefit from the technology.

In terms of the airline’s flight operations, a key concept that it plans to showcase at this year’s Dubai Airshow is its ‘Smart Skies Turbulence Management System.’ With environmental phenomena like climate change causing turbulence to become an increasingly prevalent issue in today’s aviation industry, Emirates has developed “a pioneering multi-layered approach designed to improve flight safety” that airshow guests can check out.

Showcasing Sustainability

Another key buzzword that has become increasingly important when it comes to making decisions in the modern aviation sector is sustainability. With environmental and social governance (ESG) often coming front and center of airlines’ public images, Emirates is understandably keen to showcase this.

Among the ways that it plans to do so at this year’s Dubai Airshow is through the display of upcycled products from its ‘Aircrafted by Emirates’ range. These collections, such as its ‘Aircrafted KIDS‘ charity initiative, have seen components such as old seat covers turned into stylish bags in order to reduce waste. Likewise, Emirates’ economy class blankets, which will also be on display at the airshow, are made from recycled plastic bottles.

All in all, Emirates has huge plans for the 2025 Dubai Airshow, with plenty to offer visitors in terms of showcasing both aircraft and technology. Behind the scenes, the carrier will also be responsible for a huge catering operation at the event, with 2,600 staff serving up more than 300,000 meals across the week.
