The three letters of SAS – or ‘sass’, stand for Scandinavian Airlines System. As can be seen by the three partial flags/flag representations at the rear of the standard livery, the SkyTeam member is the flag carrier of three Scandinavian nations: Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.
