Good: Hilton Honors Improves Global Promotion, Because It Was Just So Bad

Historically, Hilton Honors has done an amazing job with its global promotions. Unfortunately that has started to change in recent times, both in terms of the frequency and the generosity of the offers.

At the beginning of the month, Hilton Honors launched its latest global promotion, but it kind of sucked. I mean, you’d have to make 167 separate stays to earn one free night at a top Hilton Honors property. So there’s some good news, as Hilton has just improved the offer for stays going forward… now you only have to make 100 separate stays to get a free night at a top property. You’re too good to us, Hilton!

Hilton Honors’ current global promotion is called Stay More, Earn More, and with this, members are able to earn bonus points for every stay they make in the fourth quarter, no matter what brand they stay at, or how much they spend.

For stays between October 1 and October 22, 2025, the promotion offered 1,500 bonus points per stay. I guess Hilton realized that just wasn’t great, so now between October 23 and December 31, 2025, that reward has been increased by around 67%, so you earn 2,500 bonus points per stay.

Hilton Honors Stay More, Earn More promotion

There are some details to be aware of:

  • The promotion is valid for stays between October 1 and December 31, 2025 (you must check-out by December 31)
  • Registration is required prior to your first eligible stay, though it’s fine if you booked prior to registration
  • There’s no limit to how many bonus points you can earn, you start earning rewards with the first stay, and there’s no minimum stay required
  • It can take up to six to eight weeks for bonus points to post, though they’ll typically post much faster than that
  • All stays booked directly with Hilton, including award stays, are eligible for this promotion

Hilton Honors is now offering 2,500 bonus points per stay

How generous is Hilton Honors’ Q4 2025 promotion? The math on the Stay More, Earn More promotion is straightforward. Personally I value Hilton Honors points at 0.5 cents each, so I value the 1,500 bonus points at an incremental $7.50 return per stay, while I value the 2,500 bonus points at an incremental $12.50 return per stay.

Neither of those offers are exactly much to get excited about, though 2,500 points is more than 1,500 points, so… yay? This is obviously more rewarding for a one night award stay at a cheap hotel than for a long stay at an expensive property.

This is in addition to standard points earning rates. Under normal circumstances:

On top of that, you can maximize your Hilton Honors points earned from hotel stays by paying with a co-branded Hilton American Express card. These cards earn points at the following rates on eligible purchases made directly with a property in the Hilton portfolio:

Hilton Honors historically had pretty good points earning rates

Bottom line

Hilton Honors is currently offering its Q4 2025 promotion. Initially this was supposed to offer 1,500 bonus points per stay throughout the quarter, but now that offer has been increased to 2,500 bonus points per stay.

I’m happy to see the offer improved, but still, this isn’t much. It’s disappointing to see the direction Hilton Honors is taking, between the reduced points earning through promotions, plus the massive redemption devaluations in recent times.

What do you make of Hilton Honors’ current global promotion?
