Siari, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve Resort In Riviera Nayarit, Mexico, Opens Soon

The Ritz-Carlton Reserve brand will soon be expanding, with the opening of yet another resort…

Riviera Nayarit’s new Ritz-Carlton Reserve

Siari, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve Resort, is now accepting reservations for stays as of December 15, 2025. The property is located in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico, nestled between the Sierra Madre mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

This is easily accessible by flying into Puerto Vallarta Airport (PVR). It’s roughly an 80-minute drive from the airport, so it’s a bit north of many of the existing developments, like Punta Mita (where you’ll find a Four Seasons, St. Regis, and more) and Mandarina (where you’ll find a One&Only and Rosewood).

The new Ritz-Carlton Reserve is set on 920 acres, with access to over four miles of beaches. It offers 90 rooms and suites with views of the ocean, plus 35 branded residences. The design is described as honoring the region’s Huichol heritage, with architecture and interiors that merge with the surrounding jungle, cliffs, and beaches.

As you’d expect, the resort has no shortage of amenities, ranging from multiple pools, to a full service spa, to a gym and wellness area, to multiple dining venues. Dining venues include Zula by David Castro Hussong (a seafood restaurant), Estero (an international restaurant), Naao (an Asian fusion restaurant), Masa Madre (a pizzeria), Maribel’s (a coffee shop), and Lichi (a juice and smoothie bar).

When it comes to accommodations, they range from the entry level ocean view terrace (979 square feet, or 91 square meters), to the beach front villa (2,873 square feet, or 267 square meters). So they’re all generously sized, and with great views and outdoor spaces.

For those not familiar with Ritz-Carlton Reserve, this is Marriott’s uber-luxury hotel brand. Ritz-Carlton Reserve properties are on a different level than standard Ritz-Carlton properties, and are generally much smaller and offer more personalized service. The brand currently has eight properties, with several more in the pipeline.

This will be the brand’s second resort in Mexico, after Zadun, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. Meanwhile it will be the brand’s fourth resort in the Americas, also complementing Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, and Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve.

Ritz-Carlton Reserve participates in Marriott Bonvoy

What’s nice is that Ritz-Carlton Reserve participates in Marriott Bonvoy nowadays, so it’s possible to earn and redeem points. While you can earn and redeem points roughly at the regular rates, elite benefits are a bit different at Ritz-Carlton Reserve properties. Below you can find the chart showing perks offered by tier.

There’s value to booking stays at these properties through the Marriott STARS program, to receive perks like free breakfast, a $100 resort credit, a room upgrade, and more.

Ritz-Carlton Reserve Riviera Nayarit rates & points requirements

With the Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico, now bookable, what are rates like? As you’d expect, rates aren’t cheap, but they’re actually not as high as at some other resorts.

Entry level rates currently start at just over $800 per night, though that’s before Mexico’s high taxes and service charges, which add 30%+ to the base rate.

For those looking to redeem Marriott points, I see rates starting at just over 140,000 Bonvoy points per night. Keep in mind that you can receive a fifth night free on award redemptions, which improves the value somewhat. Based on my valuation of 0.7 cents per Bonvoy point, I’d say the math is generally pretty breakeven when it comes to paying cash vs. redeeming points, especially after factoring in taxes & fees.

Bottom line

The Ritz-Carlton Reserve brand will soon be expanding to Riviera Nayarit, with the opening of the Siari property, not far from Puerto Vallarta. The 90 rooms and suites all offer great views and plenty of space, so this will no doubt be a great option for those looking for an easy, luxury getaway from the United States, whether paying cash or redeeming points.

Mexico sure has seen an explosion in terms of the number of luxury properties, and one wonders if there will come the point where rooms just can’t be filled anymore. Either way, I have to say, this looks like one of the nicer new properties we’ve seen.

What do you make of Ritz-Carlton Reserve’s new Mexico property?
