AERO, the world’s leading trade show for General Aviation (GA), is approaching and promises to be another exciting experience. This year AERO will take place from 9 to 12 April 2025 in Friedrichshafen, and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) will once again actively contribute to this unique show. 

Come and visit our EASA stand at AERO 2025 Friedrichshafen in Hall A5 at stand A5-300 from Wednesday, 9 April to Friday, 11 April (09:00-17:00) and on Saturday, 12 April (09:00-16:00). You will have the possibility to meet several EASA experts ready to answer your questions. Here below, you have the precise information on the availability of experts on-site:

Further EASA’s activities at AERO:
 

  • EASA GA Conference on Prevention of Midair-Collisions takes place on Wednesday, 9 April (15:30-17:00) — AERO Conference Stage Foyer East. 
    Free to attend, everyone welcome to come and talk about this important safety challenge! 
    Two dedicated panels will discuss the following initiatives to help preventing mid-air collisions:
    • ¡Conspicuity Declaration: In this initiative, EASA, national aviation authorities, and general aviation associations jointly express their commitment to promote the development of ¡Conspicuity Devices and their use and exploitation of related data. The objective of this initiative is to enhance aviation safety, foster innovation, and improve operational efficiency through collaborative analysis.
    • ADS-L Coalition: The group, which includes leading industry stakeholders, has officially expressed its commitment to the ADS-L protocol, citing its critical role in improving pilot situational awareness and supporting safer flying conditions. The coalition calls for widespread adoption of ADS-L to ensure interoperability and maximize safety benefits across the aviation community.

Visit EASA ¡Conspicuity webpage to learn more about the introduction of ADS-L for the entire GA community to enable electronic visibility of all aircraft, from hang gliders, sailplanes and helicopters to aeroplanes, so that all airspace users can share one airspace safely. 
 

EASA will hold two information sessions – Conference Center East, upper floor, Room Moscow.

  1. Overview of Hybrid-Electric Propulsion System activities in GA on Thursday, 10 April (10:00 to 10:30) presented by Alberto Molina Sanchez, Propulsion Expert – New Technologies (EASA):
    • Scope: Certification of Hybrid Electric Propulsion Systems based. Road Map for the new developed Means of Compliance of the SC E-19
    • Short description: This presentation explains the main elements that, together with SC E-19, support the certification of Hybrid Electric Propulsion Systems. In this regard, a status of the means of compliance published in 2024 and under development for 2025 is also given during the presentation. In addition, the concept of Certification Readiness Level is presented.
    • Target Audience: Electric engine manufacturers. Ultra light, CS-22 and CS-23 electric airframers.
  2. What, if?…. power-loss and now? Fleet safety initiative on example of Rotax equipped aircrafts on Thursday, 10 April (13:30-14:00) presented by Ralph Menzel, Powerplant Expert (EASA)

You may choose to attend one or both sessions – simply follow the registration steps outlined in the “Registration” section below.

  • AERO Career Days & EASA
    The AERO Career Days will take place on Friday 11 and Saturday 12, April as part of AERO Friedrichshafen 2025. 
    Come and learn more about exciting careers in aviation at EASA, stand AC-01. 
    EASA will present on Friday, April 11th, from 16:15 to 17:00 at Stage East.
     
  • Safety Promotion Launch with Elixir
    EASA will also launch a new series of Safety Promotion videos with Elixir.
