Emirates Soars To A Record 13 Daily Flights To London

Emirates has passenger flights from Dubai to London Gatwick, Heathrow, and Stansted. The latest development sees up to 90 weekly departures in the upcoming winter, with 12 to 13 daily services. This is because Heathrow will grow from 42 to 48 weekly (mainly seven daily), and—as previously disclosed—Gatwick will rise to a high of four daily.

According to Cirium Diio data, Emirates has not previously had 13 daily flights to London. The prior record was 12, which was last available in October 2024. The increase is influenced by Qatar Airways and joint venture partner, British Airways, growing Doha-London flights to a record 14 daily from October 28, 2025. They’ll have up to five departures in 35 minutes.

Although disclosed in early August, notice that Gatwick will be expanded to four daily flights in February. This frequency was previously available for a very limited time in August 2019. This time, however, the additional service will be aboard the 298-seat Airbus A350-900, which is Emirates’ lowest-capacity machine across its entire fleet.

The additional frequency means Gatwick’s A380 services have been halved to once a day. This has reduced its Gatwick seats per flight from 431 to a ‘mere’ 398. Despite the equipment swap, the fourth flight means Emirates’ round-trip seats for sale will jump by 23% to 3,180 daily. No wonder it has decreased superjumbo services to ensure a sufficiently good balance between loads and yields.

Up To 13 Daily Flights To London

Beginning on February 8, Emirates will have 13 daily passenger flights to London except on Fridays, when 12 will operate. On that specific date, all the following flights are scheduled. The list does not include freighter operations.

You’ll see three main banks of departures from Dubai, which is the world’s second-busiest airport for widebody activity and number three for long-haul services. Based on inbound flights feeding London services, they’re in the very early morning, the early morning, and the middle of the afternoon. The others are more supplementary.

The bank of arrivals in Dubai is also clear. They are roughly in the middle of the evening, after midnight, and in the early morning. The others are supplementary and provide additional capacity. Consider the 20:00/20:30 arrivals in the UAE. Historically, onward flights were particularly to South Asia. Nowadays, they’re also good for Bangkok, Johannesburg, Melbourne, Sydney, etc., all of which are obviously massively popular from London.

Emirates Filled 83% Of Stansted Seats In 2024

The Middle East giant’s first passenger service touched down at the Essex airport in June 2018. A year later, frequencies rose to double daily. Following the pandemic-driven exit, it returned to Stansted in August 2022, with flights doubling to twice daily the following May.

According to UK Civil Aviation Data for 2024, some 436,224 passengers were transported to/from Stansted. As Cirium indicates that it had 525,892 seats for sale, its seat load factor was 83%, which was higher than its network average. Alas, data is not available per cabin. Booking data suggests that 276,000 passengers (63%) connected elsewhere around the world, with Bangkok, Colombo, Male, Brisbane, and Melbourne being the five most popular cities.
