While hardly the most exciting promotion ever, here’s an easy opportunity to pick up some free miles, which extends the expiration of any balance you may have, if nothing else.
American offering easy, free AAdvantage miles
American has a promotion that offers 300 bonus miles if you register to be opted in to American app push notifications. Now, I should mention that it’s possible that this promotion is targeted, though it at least seems to be widely targeted.
To find this offer, log into your AAdvantage account through aa.com or the American app, go to your main account page, and click on the “Promotions” tab. If eligible, you’ll see this listed there.

Registration is required by April 21, 2026, and bonus miles will post within six to eight weeks (though likely faster than that). Notifications may include flight information, surveys, AAdvantage account summary updates, AAdvantage promotions, and American offers and news.
Interestingly, the terms & conditions don’t indicate that you actually have to keep push notifications enabled for any amount of time. So it seems that it’s fine to just register and then opt out shortly thereafter. At least I don’t see anything in the terms that suggests otherwise.
There’s no reason not to take advantage of this!
Personally I value AAdvantage miles at 1.5 cents each, meaning that I value 300 bonus miles at $4.50. Okay, that’s not exactly all that much to get excited about, but then again, we’re just talking about clicking a button to register.
For those who aren’t super engaged in AAdvantage, another benefit of registering is that it extends the expiration of your miles, as AAdvantage miles ordinarily expire after 24 months of inactivity.
I know some people may not actually wish to receive push notifications, but the good news is that you can always opt out after registering.
Bottom line
American AAdvantage has rolled out a promotion offering 300 bonus miles just for agreeing to receive push notifications through the carrier’s app. If you’re eligible for this offer, you might as well take advantage of this, in my opinion.
Are you registering for this AAdvantage promotion, if eligible?
