Classic Aero-TV: EVAS Raises Awareness on Cockpit Smoke
From 2024 (YouTube Edition): Hosts Smoke Demonstrator at 2024 NBAA-BACE Display For nearly 30 years, the Emergency Vision Assurance System (EVAS) has been working to raise awareness on one of aviation’s most hazardous, yet least discussed issues: blinding smoke events in the cockpit. As a part of its continued effort to show the significance of EVAS, the company hosted a smoke demonstrator at its 2024 NBAA-BACE exhibit. FAA reports show that in-flight fires are a frequent cause of unscheduled and emergency landings. While it is a common belief that putting on the provided oxygen mask and goggles will be enough to get on the ground safely, EVAS has proved otherwise.
