All Nippon Airways (ANA) appoints new CEO and President

All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest airline, announced on February 25, 2026, that it has appointed Juichi Hirasawa as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President. This management change will become effective on April 1, 2026.

Hirasawa, who currently holds the posts of Representative Director and Senior Executive Vice President of ANA, will succeed Shinichi Inoue, effective April 1, 2026.

68-year-old Inoue joined ANA in 1990 and has held the top post since April 2022.

His successor is also a long–time industry veteran. Hirasawa, who is also a member of the airline’s executive board, joined ANA in 1986 and has held several senior leadership positions throughout the years. He has held the post of Senior Executive Vice President since 2025.

In his new capacity, Hirasawa will oversee the folding of AirJapan, ANA’s short-lived low-cost carrier, into the mainline airline, which will be implemented in March 2026. He will also oversee the full integration of Nippon Cargo Airlines, the full acquisition of which was completed in August 2025.
