Airbus will need to deliver over 85 commercial aircraft per month to reach its 2026 annual target, as set out by the company’s CEO Guillaume Faury earlier this year.
In February 2026, Faury announced that Airbus was looking to achieve “around 870” deliveries across the year, an increase from the company’s initial ambition of 820 aircraft in 2025.
On May 8, 2026, the European planemaker confirmed that it had made 181 deliveries to date, with April 2026 adding a further 67 to the total.
To reach 870 deliveries in 2026, Airbus needs to deliver 690 more aircraft before the end of the year – around 86 per month.
Last month proved to be Airbus’ most successful for deliveries this year, indicating that things are slowly moving in the right direction.

In its first quarter update on April 28, 2026, Airbus reaffirmed its full-year 2026 guidance of around 870 commercial aircraft deliveries.
Faury noted that the operating environment remained “dynamic and complex” and acknowledged that the company was watching developments in the Middle East.
He also pointed to the ongoing shortage of Pratt & Whitney engines as the main constraint on commercial output.
Pratt & Whitney’s inability to meet engine deliveries for the A320neo family, powered by geared turbofans, remains the dominant industrial issue for Airbus.
As well as providing details on April 2026 deliveries, Airbus also confirmed that it had received orders for 28 commercial jets.
These included purchases for 15 A350-900s, six A321neos and two A220-300s, all from three separate undisclosed customers.
